I received so many email echoing what I was feeling. Things like,
“This email really spoke to me!” “Love it.” “Great to hear from you! I've launched a new blog.”
Hearing about your evolution and new endeavors makes me beyond happy! And man, knowing others are going through the same thing, in their own way, made me feel...less alone. More connected. Loved and part of a beautiful movement of women evolving and becoming their truest selves. Pretty awesome.
Writing that article came so easily for me at the time. There was no straining, brainstorming and stressing about what I should write. See, because I do stress about that. Pretty much every darn time. Gosh, you know how hard it can be sitting down and getting your thoughts (organized and coherent) onto the page.
Know what made it easy for me to write? It was an honest and raw moment for me. I was brushing my teeth and as I looked at myself in the mirror I heard, “what do you do when everything has changed?”
And boom. I spat out the toothpaste and beelined for my laptop. Ten minutes later I was putting the final touches on what I had wrote.
So the email responses to what I wrote got me thinking.
How many of us are missing these moments where we have something powerful to say?
We keep on brushing our teeth. Or never open the laptop. We forget to jot the idea down in our notebook. Or ignore it completely. The lightening strikes but we never to capture the moment.
And this also works in everyday life. We have something to say. Your adrenaline surges, heart beats faster and face reddens. You can feel it bubbling up to the surface and right when you go to express it... you pull the pin. All the air from the balloon deflates and the moment has passed.
What if we weren’t afraid to put ourselves out there? To be vulnerable? What if part of our healing process comes from sharing our shadows so that other can bring in their light?
I wonder, if the next time you are struck with a profound thought in the middle of your day, will you make the most of the moment and write it down? It could be exactly what you need in that moment, or what someone around you needs to hear. And as always, send it my way because I love seeing what you are up to.
