We all know that the only constant is change.
But what do we do when we change and everything around us seems to stay the same?
It’s like when an old acquaintance asks you, ‘what’s new?’ and you want your response to be..
"everything and nothing…"
The fact you’ve changed slowly creeps up on you until one day you realize that the same thing's that used to bring you joy are more "bleh" then usual. You just do them because.. that's what you've always done.
And then you start to see how your old way of being needs to be shed to make room for your newer, more expansive Self.
I came to this stark realization when I took a look at my website, megthemediamaven.com. I was shocked. It was just so not me anymore. I remember the hours upon hours I put into carefully crafting each detail, line of copy and blog post.
I have largely ignored it for the last year or two, a subconscious signal if there ever was one that something was off.
I was called to look at it last week, like really look at it so that I can step back into that purpose of assisting people with their businesses in enlightened, intuitive and fun way!
In my looking at it, I made the mistake of simply trying to edit it because I was afraid to let it go. I told myself it's because of my 1,000 hits per month, or all my blog posts, or, or, or. My ego was bold!
So as I tried to update www.megthemediamaven.com to reflect a new, more whole part of myself I got totally, and completely blocked.
You know when you write and re-write a sentence a hundred times? That was me.
That’s when I got so tired of how difficult it was, and decided to scrap it all.
I stumbled upon a new domain I loved (soulspeakmarketing.com) and found new hosting account. (You really know something's different if I'm moving away from Wordpress to Weebly!!)
And here I am.
Once I made that change...it all flowed. Soul Speak Marketing was born. You will still see a lot of ‘Meg the Media Maven’ in there...just with a more soulful twist.
So, I still ask: what do you do when everything has changed?
And most importantly? Be brave.
